Q. There is too much stuff to follow - how do I keep up?
A. You are absolutely correct! There is a lot of great content on 1Cpt. The best way to not get overwhelmed with emails for stuff you follow is to customize your email notification settings. We have this great little feature that sends you a daily digest of the activity you currently follow on the site. The 'follow-email me when there is activity' button is found throughout the site usually at the bottom of the content on a given page. For example, when on a forum category page, if you click follow, you will get an email every time there is a new discussion in that category.
Q. What happened to Hub City Livin'?
A. We changed the name of the network to OneCompton.com in June 2011. As HCL grew to become a debate zone for political happenings in the city, it was also perceived as more negative than positive. Many of our members did not find this image and perception conducive to using the network effectively so we chose a name and design that was more inclusive of everyone. Political discussion is still very much welcome on OneCompton.com.
Q. How do I use the site effectively?
A. That all depends on why you joined and what type of profile you created when you first signed up. Our wide range of features are avaialble to all members and can be found on our Benefits Of Membership page.
Q. What is the Promote button all about?
A. The promote button serves 2 main purposes. One is to show your support for content (discussion, photo, event, etc) found on the network. Promoting also acts as an in network bookmarking system. Every time you Promote a piece of content, it gets added to your 'Promotions Page'. Access to this page can be found in the section beneath a members profile photo on their 'Page'.
Q. I saw a profile that had a custom design. Can I get one too?
A. Yes you can! Check out this link to get all the details How To Customize Your Profile. If you are not familiar with css and would like us to do it for you, click here for more information on the services we provide.

Q. How many members are on the site; It looks like only a few participate?
A. There are currently 1,235 members on the site and if you'd like to see more people participating, you can always send out an invitation. Also, another great way to get more people using the site is to interact with them and take some time to comment, promote or reply to content they may add.
Q. I added a discussion but no one has left any replies?
A. We are sorry to hear that. Who did you share the discussion with? Sharing is the number one way to get folks to participate in your discussion. Just beneath the contents of your discussion, you will find a few sharing options - share anywhere, twitter, google+ and facebook. When you click 'share anywhere' a box will pop up giving you the option to share the discussion with your contacts on OneCompton as well as via email. If you click more options, you'll unlock some really great ways to get your discussion out there.
Q. Can I connect my 1CPT account to my Twitter or Facebook?
A. Of course you can! Here's how:
1. Make sure you're logged on to your Twitter or Facebook account
2. Go to Settings
3. Click on "Connections"
4. Click on "Connect to Twitter" or "Connect to Facebook"

Q. What's the difference between a blog and a discussion?
A. Blogs are typically used to express personal opinions or share information that does not warrant further discussion. You start a discussion when you are looking to converse with members about different topics or issues. They also differ in that the discussion forum is public and blogs come with privacy options when publishing.
Q. Who reads all the e-mail I send through the “feedback” form?
A. The “feedback” messages, or tech support e-mails (reporting an issue), go to the people who ensure 1Cpt is up and running every day, namely Mrs. H (admin @onecompton). You're more likely to see md around the site and you're more than welcome to share your feedback or issue with him as well.
